Network Nightmare Support
Product Issues
There are three main issues to be aware of:
- In releases before 1.0.9 there is a bug which will sometimes cause the
box to seize up and stop responding even to the console. Upgrade.
- In any release, you cannot set any of the three interfaces to the same
subnet. You may receive a "file exists" error when you try. There is no
workaround beyond "don't do that". On 1.0.9 when you try it in the config
system, it will notice and prevent you.
- Some power adapters seem to have trouble
"starting up" and need to be reinserted a couple of times in order to power
the unit. We're corresponding with the power plug manufacturer about
this. It appears that they have changed the supplies now to avoid the
problem: if you have some issues, just retry a few times; request a
replacmeent if too frustrating.
- If you UPGRADE (1.0.8->1.0.9) the default password mentioned in the
documentation will not be set, you will need to set manually. Note (as it
warns you) saved settings will be lost in general.

However you upgrade, be sure the downloaded file retains its .gz extension
(and is < 15 MB in size), if it is expanded by your web browser, then it
will not fit on /tmp!
Once you have upgraded, note a few things that are normally taken care of
in manufacturing, but which you will experience:
- The NN2wansim password will not be set automatically
- You will lose all config in the upgrade
- The first boot post-upgrade will take MUCH longer than normal (5+ minutes)
